A good friend recently brought something to my attention. As this picture clearly illustrates, the body of the Sphinx is way the hell out of proportion. Just look at the size of the paws for example. Those paws, especially the front ones, are just totally absurd. In fact, in a study conducted by none other than the world renowned scholar, Doctor Mumbles himself, it was definitively determined that the Sphinx couldn't possibly ever walk under its own power. At least not with those ridiculously oversized feet anyway. So, as Mumbles concludes, the Sphinx has not been lying out there in the desert all these years simply out of pure laziness as has been widely speculated. Oh no, the truth is, he has no choice, the poor big footed bastard. And then of course, there's that head, which is way too small for his body. Which begs the question: Why? Why the little noggin? Well I have developed a theory on this. As everyone knows, the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx were built by outer space aliens. And what is the first thing you notice about spacemen? That's right, tremendously oversized heads. So the Sphinx is most likely nothing more than a subconscious overcompensation for that. They were probably so damn self-conscious about their own big heads that they made the Sphinx's head way too small without even realizing it. Or perhaps they did realize it and that's why they made the feet so damn big. Maybe they thought the big feet would draw attention away from the small head. Oh yes, it all seems so clear to me now.
